Gloddfa Ganol Slate Mine

Gauge: 1ft 11½in (600mm)

Gloddfa Ganol mountain adventure centre was open for a few years from 1970. It was on a small part of the massive Oakeley Quarry which closed that year. The objects listed here date from this period. The site was bought by Alfred MacAlpine in 1998 and extraction was started once more using modern earth moving machinery.
